Repair

Over the years, every guitar will eventually need some form of repair or adjustment.
You may begin to feel that the sound has changed, or that the instrument has become less comfortable to play.
With proper care, however, a cherished guitar can always regain the brilliance it was meant to have.

In approaching repairs, my guiding principle is not to be bound too tightly by fixed methods.
While certain issues can be classified into general types, in reality each case is unique.
Every instrument has its own individual structure, and every player has a different way of using and caring for it.
This is why it is difficult to say, “For this symptom, this one method will always work.”

I believe repair requires holding the traditional methods in mind, while also allowing space to adapt, to respond flexibly to irregular or unexpected situations, and to search for the most fitting approach for each instrument.
This attitude is, to me, at the heart of meaningful repair.

As for specific repair methods and costs, I will discuss the details with each client and propose the solution that seems best suited to the instrument and its player.
